Introduction: Innovative educational materials constitute relevant resources for strengthening teaching and learning processes in Social Sciences, particularly in the development of historical thinking, critical interpretation, and teacher education. However, scientific production addressing this relationship in the Peruvian context remains insufficiently consolidated. Objective: To analyze trends in scientific production, authorship, publication sources, and collaboration networks concerning innovative educational materials associated with the development of historical thinking in Social Sciences research in Peru. Methodology: A quantitative bibliometric study with a descriptive scope was conducted. Documents indexed in Scopus and published between 2017 and 2025 were analyzed, considering indicators of scientific productivity, author collaboration, publication sources, and thematic trends within the field. Results: The findings revealed an emerging body of scientific production comprising 16 documents, with a negative annual growth rate (−8.3%), no evidence of transnational collaboration, and a fragmented publication structure. Nevertheless, an average of 4.6 authors per document was identified, together with an increasing focus on educational innovation, historical reasoning, and teacher education. Conclusions: The study shows that research on innovative educational materials and historical thinking in Social Sciences in Peru remains at an early stage of development. Strengthening the field requires expanding scientific collaboration networks, increasing international visibility, and promoting stronger connections among educational research, pedagogical practice, and public policy.
