Gestión educativa y deserción estudiantil en Educación Básica Alternativa: revisión bibliométrica en Scopus

Educational management and student dropout in Alternative Basic Education: a bibliometric review in Scopus
Publicado
2026-03-11

Student dropout in Alternative Basic Education (ABE) is a structural problem that restricts the retention and completion of studies for young people and adults in vulnerable contexts. Within this framework, educational management plays a strategic role in ensuring inclusive and sustained learning trajectories. The objective of this study was to analyze the scientific production indexed in Scopus on educational management proposals aimed at reducing student dropout, using a bibliometric approach with emphasis on ABE. A non experimental, descriptive, and retrospective investigation was conducted based on documents retrieved from Scopus, applying the PRISMA method for the identification, selection, and screening of records. The final sample consisted of 369 publications. The results show sustained growth of research in recent years, mainly in Social Sciences and Education, with emphasis on educational leadership, institutional management, and inclusion. However, there is limited research specifically focused on ABE. It is concluded that a significant gap remains in contextualized educational management proposals to address dropout in this modality.
