El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo identificar los factores psicosociales que contribuyen al abandono temporal de estudios en universitarios de la Universidad Adventista de Bolivia. Se trabajó un enfoque cualitativo, con una investigación de carácter descriptivo con un diseño no experimental. Se recolectó la información mediante la técnica de la entrevista en profundidad y el instrumento específico fue una guía de preguntas a la cual se recurrió para dar un hilo conductor al diálogo. Los principales resultados destacan que los estudiantes describen a los docentes como agentes que los desmotivan y es una de las causas que los lleva a fracasar académicamente. La familia y amigos constituyen un agente motivador para la mayoría de los estudiantes. La religión adventista algunos estudiantes la describen como un factor desmotivador. Se concluye que la mayoría de los estudiantes consideran a los docentes como agentes que desmotivan, debido a actitudes y comportamientos, lo que podría estar contribuyendo a la deserción universitaria.
The objective of this research work is to identify the psychosocial factors that contribute to the temporary abandonment of studies in university students at the Adventist University of Bolivia. A qualitative approach was used, with a descriptive research with a non-experimental design. The information was collected using the in-depth interview technique and the specific instrument was a guide of questions to the which was used to provide a common thread to the dialogue. The main results highlight that students describe teachers as agents that demotivate them and is one of the causes that leads them to academic failure. Family and friends constitute a motivating agent for most students. The Adventist religion is described by some students as a demotivating factor. It is concluded that the majority of students consider teachers as demotivating agents, due to attitudes and behaviors, which could be contributing to university dropout.
