Introducción: La escasez y deterioro de los recursos hídricos constituyen una problemática ambiental global que afecta la disponibilidad y sostenibilidad del agua. En regiones amazónicas como Tingo María, fortalecer la conciencia ambiental desde la educación primaria resulta fundamental para promover prácticas responsables de conservación. Objetivo: Evaluar el efecto de estrategias pedagógicas participativas basadas en shows ecológicos sobre el fortalecimiento de la conciencia y las actitudes hacia la conservación del recurso hídrico en estudiantes de educación primaria. Metodología: Se desarrolló una investigación aplicada, de nivel descriptivo-comparativo, con enfoque cuantitativo y diseño no experimental, transversal y prospectivo. La muestra estuvo conformada por 108 estudiantes de sexto grado seleccionados mediante muestreo probabilístico. Se aplicó un cuestionario validado para medir conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas relacionadas con la conservación del agua. Resultados: Los resultados evidenciaron un incremento significativo del Índice de Conciencia Ambiental, que pasó de 1,67 en la evaluación inicial a 2,56 después de la intervención. Asimismo, el nivel alto de conciencia ambiental aumentó del 14 % al 65 %, mientras que el nivel bajo disminuyó del 47 % al 9 %, reflejando mejoras en conocimientos, actitudes y comportamientos conservacionistas. Conclusiones: Las estrategias pedagógicas participativas y vivenciales, como los shows ecológicos, constituyen herramientas efectivas para fortalecer la conciencia ambiental y promover aprendizajes significativos sobre la conservación del recurso hídrico. Su incorporación en la educación primaria favorece el desarrollo de actitudes proambientales sostenibles en contextos amazónicos.
Introduction: The scarcity and deterioration of water resources represent a critical global environmental challenge affecting water availability and sustainability. In Amazonian regions such as Tingo María, fostering environmental awareness within primary education is essential for promoting responsible conservation practices. Objective: This study evaluates the impact of participatory pedagogical strategies based on ecological shows on strengthening environmental awareness and attitudes toward water resource conservation among primary school students. Methodology: An applied research study was conducted using a quantitative approach with a descriptive-comparative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and prospective design. The sample consisted of 108 sixth-grade students selected through probability sampling. A validated questionnaire was administered to measure knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to water conservation. Results: The results showed a significant increase in the Environmental Awareness Index, which rose from 1.67 in the initial assessment to 2.56 following the intervention. Furthermore, high levels of environmental awareness increased from 14% to 65%, while low levels decreased from 47% to 9%, reflecting substantial improvements in conservationist knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Conclusions: Participatory and experiential pedagogical strategies, such as ecological shows, are effective tools for strengthening environmental awareness and fostering meaningful learning regarding water conservation. Their integration into primary education promotes the development of sustainable pro-environmental attitudes within Amazonian contexts.
