Impact of generative artificial intelligence on the development of educational digital skills: a critical analysis
Publicado
2025-11-24

Generative artificial intelligence is transforming contemporary educational environments. Therefore, this research aimed to analyze the impact of generative artificial intelligence on the development of digital educational competencies. To this end, a systematic review based on the PRISMA method was conducted, identifying 30 studies published between 2023 and 2025. The results show that these tools, with a clear predominance of language models, promote competencies such as digital literacy, critical thinking, and creativity, in addition to facilitating personalized learning and reducing academic gaps. However, they also bring significant challenges related to technological dependence, content inaccuracy, and ethical concerns regarding privacy and academic integrity. Effective integration requires prior digital competencies, adequate teacher training, and clear institutional policies. It is concluded that generative artificial intelligence significantly impacts the development of digital educational competencies, although its optimal use requires pedagogical strategies, robust ethical frameworks, and equitable access to these technologies.
